What this size is for
iPhone 11 Pro Max, XS Max and the 6.5-inch generation. Still accepted, and still in use by listings that predate the 6.9-inch requirement.
What gets a file rejected
Three things, and each one is enough on its own. The resolution has to match exactly — a file scaled to 2× is a different size, not the same size at higher quality. The image cannot carry an alpha channel: Apple rejects PNGs with transparency even when nothing in them is transparent. And the file has to be flat RGB, not CMYK.
