Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible for your data

Brainglab, an IT services consultancy based in Santiago, Chile, decides what is collected and why. For anything about your data, write to contacto@brainglab.com.

2. What we collect

Your account: your email address and your password. The password is never stored as you typed it — what we keep is a scrypt hash, from which the original cannot be recovered.

Your shots: the screenshot you upload, the thumbnail we generate from it, the name you give the shot and its settings — device, background, text, framing. They are stored in private storage, and every request for a file is checked against its owner before anything is returned.

Your subscription: whether Pro is active and when it renews. Card details never reach us; they are handled by our payment provider.

Technical data: the session cookie that keeps you signed in, and standard server logs with the IP address and the browser making the request. Logs are kept short-term, to spot failures and abuse.

Usage: aggregate measurements of which parts of the app are used, through Google Analytics. This tells us that a screen is used, not who used it.

3. What is not collected

The editor composes everything in your browser using WebGL: the device, the background, the shadows and the export are drawn on your own computer. A screenshot only leaves your computer if you save it to your gallery.

We do not sell your data, we do not hand it to advertisers, and we do not use your images to train anything.

4. Why we use it

To run the service: keep you signed in, save your shots and show them back to you.

To bill Pro and manage your subscription.

To send you the emails the service needs — confirming your address, resetting your password, telling you about an important change. We do not send marketing you did not ask for.

To keep the service safe and working: spot failures, block abuse, understand which parts are used.

5. On what legal basis

We handle your data to provide a service you asked for, and with the consent you give when you create an account, as set out in Chilean law on the protection of private life, Ley 19.628, and the rules that replace it.

You can withdraw that consent at any time by closing your account. Doing so does not undo what was lawful before.

6. Who else sees it

Only the providers the service runs on, and only for what each one does: Vercel hosts the site and stores the image files; Neon hosts the database; Polar processes payments; Resend delivers our emails; Google Analytics measures aggregate usage.

Each one is bound by its own contract and none of them may use your data for their own purposes.

Beyond that, we only hand over data when a Chilean court or authority requires it under the law.

7. Where it is stored

The database and the application servers run in South America, in the São Paulo region. Some of our providers are companies based in the United States and may process data there.

That means your data can be handled outside Chile. We work only with providers that offer a level of protection equivalent to the one described here.

8. How long we keep it

Your account and your shots stay for as long as your account exists.

When you delete a shot, its row and its two image files — the screenshot and the thumbnail — are deleted with it.

When you close your account, everything goes: account, shots and files. Billing records are kept for as long as Chilean tax law requires.

9. Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it.

Write to contacto@brainglab.com from the address of your account and we will answer within 30 days at the latest. If you are not happy with the answer, you can go to the authority that oversees personal data in Chile.

10. Cookies and what is kept in your browser

One cookie keeps you signed in. It contains a random value with no meaning of its own, it cannot be read by JavaScript, and it is only valid while its session exists on our side. Without it there is no way to stay signed in.

Your browser also keeps your preferences locally — the interface language, your export defaults, whether you have seen the intro. That never leaves your computer.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to measure usage. You can block them from your browser without losing any feature of the app.

11. Children

MobileShots is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, write to contacto@brainglab.com and we will delete it.

12. Security

Traffic travels over HTTPS, passwords are stored as scrypt hashes, and the image files sit in private storage where every request is checked against its owner.

No system is completely safe. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as quickly as we can.

13. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If the change is significant, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
